Prayer of the Faithful
26th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Year B
Priest: God of boundless charity and majesty, we plead before your merciful throne to accept these prayers we now make.
- For Church leaders throughout the world, that, motivated by a deep and zealous interior life, they may continue to be reformed in discipleship and imitation of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all in service to the nation’s government, that they work together to enact laws that reflect the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all those who are homebound because of sickness or age, that the Lord who has experienced a share in our sufferings give them courage when they are afraid, patience when afflicted, and hope when dejected, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the seminarians of the Arch/Diocese of N. and for all who will serve in this local church as priests in the future, that the Lord form within them hearts zealous for souls and thirsting for holiness, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all those for whom we have promised to pray and for all who have asked for our prayers, may Mary wrap them in her mantle blue of grace and protection, we pray to the Lord.
- For all those who have died — especially, N. and N.— that the choir of angels speedily take them to the place prepared for them in the Father’s dwelling, let us pray to the Lord.
Priest: God of our forefathers,
who guide each moment of history toward your glory,
hear us as we cry to you from this valley of tears,
and grant us what we need to continue our sojourn to heaven.
Through Christ our Lord.
